About Us
BenchMark Home Services is an extension of Capozzi Design Build. Ruthann (Anne) Capozzi, a third-generation cabinet specialist, founded Capozzi Design Build in 2004 with her husband Kevin Gray.
Our Past in the Industry
Anne’s father and great uncle were both master cabinet makers, so Anne spent her childhood in the cabinetry shop. When she was old enough to join her father in the business, she quickly discovered that her passion extended beyond cabinetry and into the rest of the home. Specifically, she wanted to help others by designing the best environments for them to live in. With this goal serving as the motivation for its creation, Capozzi Design Build was born.
Since then, Capozzi Design Build has established itself as the only husband-and-wife-led design-build company that has been serving northeast Ohio for over 16 years. During this time, Capozzi has won several awards for design and craftsmanship while receiving dozens of positive reviews and five-star ratings from happy customers.
Additionally, in the past decade and a half, Anne has demonstrated her dedication to higher education as well as her innate design skills by securing the following certifications:
- Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD)
- Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS)
- Certified Living In Place Professional (CLIPP)
With these credentials, Anne is one of the most highly qualified kitchen designers in Ohio. Furthermore, as the first person in northeast Ohio to earn the CLIPP designation, her proficiency in universal design is unmatched in the region.
Along with establishing her expertise, Anne has also assumed a leadership role in the industry by becoming a board member of the local National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) chapter and serving as a Director of Education for the association. She has also joined the local board of the Home Builders Association (HBA) and is a member of the Chagrin Valley Chamber of Commerce.
As Capozzi Design Build satisfied one incredible client after another, these clients would occasionally call back to ask for help with home improvement projects, home repairs, and home maintenance. While these requests initially surprised Anne and Kevin, the Capozzi team soon saw the opportunity to start a second business devoted to providing home remodeling, home services, and carpentry services to the greater Cleveland area. This second business is Benchmark Home Services, which Capozzi Design Build launched in early 2020.
